Science

Providing a world class curriculum for children at Christchurch Infant School is fundamental to our educational vision. At our school, we want children to develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It is our intent that children will develop an understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through the different types of enquiry that help them to answer scientific questions about the World. Scientific knowledge and understanding provides primary aged students with an understanding of how to respect and care for their bodies, as well as our environment and the living things within it. In addition, students gain an appreciation of how developments in Science have led to important technological advancements. We will ensure children have a varied, progressive and well-mapped out science curriculum that provides the opportunity for progression across the full breadth of the science national curriculum for KS1 and KS2.
